GOOD NEWS [Apr. 9th, 2009|12:31 pm]
i signed a band. it was probably a stupid thing to do, given how busy i am at the quietest of times, but they're so good and it seemed like fun.

so, if you're not already an ubermegafan, then apart from being a bit simple in the head, please go to www.myspace.com/vivamachine and listen to the songs or something.

Viva Machine - Viva Machine (it's self titled, i didn't just write that twice by mistake) is out on June 15th.
'Earthquakers & Loveshakers' is released as single (which is free! a free download single!) on June 8th. we're shooting the video for it next week and it's gonna be amazing.

that's all i think.
oh, no! www.rocklouderrecords.co.uk i made a blog. just to look proper profesh, innit.

KATY PERRY PHOTOS! [Mar. 24th, 2009|09:15 am]
[Current Music |the xcerts - in the cold wind we smile]

hello brothers and sisters. i hope this finds you well on a pretty fucking cold tuesday morning. i got up inexplicably early so i thought i'd put these recently finished photos up here before heading off on my quest to find some jelly and ice cream for breakfast (all suggestions gratefully recieved. pretty sure EAT doesn't have it on its morning repetoire).

so yeah, anyway. katy perry photos. i took these all over europe the earlier this month/late last month... can't remember what was shot where but we went to stockholm, copenhagen, manchester, london, hamsterdam, paris, munich, neu-isenburg, hamburg and brussels so chances are if you wanna know where something was taken it was one of them places.

there's loads of them, by the way, so i put a whole bunch under the cut but there's still some more on my site so click here for the full katy perry experience innit hahah :)

3OH!3 tour photos! part one... [Mar. 10th, 2009|02:12 pm]
[Current Location |london!]

home sweet home! so, so tired still after a pretty epic few weeks, but totally worth it with gigabytes and gigabytes of photo and video to start getting into now i'm back.

the last show in brussels was definitely one of the best of the tour... there were even kids with 3OH!3 signs and all sorts in the front row, with the whole place going totally nuts for the guys. so much fun to watch! katy's show was as tight as always too, with the unexpected bonus of nat and sean rushing the stage during the 'i kissed a girl' finale, dressed in 2 of her catsuits/dresses and proceeding to dance around, hump the shit out of her inflatable cherry chapstick, and make a proper nuisance of themselves! i was snapping some shots at the time but katy's sister filmed some pretty sweet footage on my digicam so that will probably make an appearance somewhere at sometime!
anyway, so now i'm home, i've realised that i never put up the photos from the first few days of the tour that i put on my site a week or two back. so this is them. these are from sweden, denmark and the UK. loads more of 3OH!3 to come from all the other shows, and a bunch of katy perry stuff on the way too! exciting, huh?! :)

BYE! <3 xoxoxoxox

wow. we're in hamburg. the well dodgy bit... hookers and dealers everywhere. we were gonna hit an absinthe bar after the show that some of the katy perry guys know, but it got closed 'cause of the riots (we're in st pauli. their football team is famously and strongly anti facist. tonight was a local derby against rostock, who are known for their neo-nazism. fighting ensued).
luckily, a nice german chap called david brought the guys and me, plus the kp band and entourage, to a dingy basement 60s rockabilly club called the beat club. pretty sweet and complete with locally brewed and tasty beer named astra.

the show tonight was another cracker, as they all are. we drove up this morning from munich, which turned out to be pretty scenic. we came right over the mountains (the germans it seems build roads over them instead of around. good going) and through the forests. I've no idea how high we got but my ears popped more than once and we were driving right through the clouds. looked awesome.

last night's show in neu-isenburg went off great, and we stayed in an incredibly efficient local hotel run by a man in a very smart suit. he was a cross between the german paedo in the league of gentleman, and a very polite tory MP. all in all a very nice and lovely gent, so if anyone (for some reason) finds themself in the neu-isenburg suburb of frankfurt, then the hotel sauer is your place to stay!

anyway. I've got SO many photos to put up! I guess sunday will be the first chance I get so keep an eye out!

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 7. [Mar. 4th, 2009|10:03 pm]
[Current Location |munich tonhalle]

hello world! i'm slept, refreshed, clean and in munich! after a super long trip from paris that took all day yesterday, we're in the same hotel for a couple of nights now so we didn't either have to check out early, or leave to drive anywhere early, and as a result everyone is feeling pretty good right now.

the hotel we're in is a cross between an old german chateau and a world war 2 cafe. when we arrived there was a piano and string quartet playing in the bar, and all the rooms and corridors have chandeliers and big canvases. pretty sweet all round and a nice change from some of the autoroute motels we've been crashing in.

(i started writing this earlier, but right now katy is midway through her encore at the tonhalle across town, where tonight's show is. 3OH!3 quite obviously killed it, yet again)

the last few days have been pretty good but super hectic, thus why i'm only just getting round to them now! amsterdam was amazing with LOADS of 3OH!3 fans in... everyone knows the words and gets down everynight (i guess a lot are katy perry fans that looked up the guys after seeing they were supporting) but the melkweg show seemed way more than usual. there are 2 rooms in the venue too, and across the hall the gaslight anthem tour was in town. i got to see and catch up with my boy frank turner which was super nice as i haven't seen him properly in forever! managed to see most of his set too with a pretty amazing new track thrown in. can't wait for his new record! met the polar bear club dudes for the first time too and they're super nice and we got to hang out some during the day. the staff at the venue looked after us amazingly well too and i had the best steak i've had in about 2 years, with garlic mayonnaise and goats cheese. i want another one right now just thinking about it!

after that night's show we busted it straight out of town and drove for 3 or so hours to stay in a motel on the motorway near lille. we had to be in paris for before lunch and didn't fancy getting up at 4am or whatever, so with all those miles out the way we slept in till 8am (nice lie in eh? hahah. got there after 3!) and then did the last few hundred miles into the french capital where we met up with hayley, who does the 3OH!3 press over here, and a couple of guys from the NME. 1 photoshoot at the eiffel tower and 1 at the venue with katy later, and it was showtime. nat is french and had a whole bunch of his family up from the south which was fun. our dressing room for the night was the balcony of the venue which meant we had about 2 sofas each and plenty of space to crash out. realllly nice, until it was midway through the show and i wanted to get some sleep hahahah...

edit - i just took a break from writing to go out front for a bit and managed to walk in on katy getting changed before the encore (it was in a room you need to get through for the stage, i wasn't just busting in or her or anything), so i'm pretty embaressed right now hahaha.

ANYWAY. so, paris. another sweet show, and a few drinks afterwards which led to waking up on the floor where i had apparantly decided to sleep with just a shirt for a duvet. i'm sure it wasn't that cold when i crashed out, but it sure was pretty darned freezing at 7am. after more amazing coffee (even the reststop coffee in france tastes so good!) we spent the next 12 or so hours cruising across europe to munich where we are right now. it was long. i drank lots more espresso. we listened to pretty much every CD in the van. i ate lots of french cake and burger king.

jams!:
saves the day - stay what you are
fall out boy - infinity on high
lily allen - it's not me, it's you (x3. AMAZING!)
innerpartysystem - innerpartysystem
fall out boy - folie a deux
saves the day - in reverie
the rakes - capture/release
polysics - polysics or die!
and lots more i forget

the show's over now so i think we're either headed back to our WW2 cafe or maybe some big beer garden in town that people are talking about. either sounds good to me!

to make up for such a dull blog, have a photo of katy from tonight. i shot the first few songs from the pit and was then just hanging at the side of the stage with the guys watching the show when the lights went down for the beautiful 'thinking of you' that she does solo and acoustic. i still had my camera so quickly shot this...

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 6. [Mar. 1st, 2009|02:54 pm]
man, everyone in amsterdam is so nice! like really, really friendly. so last night, we got into the city about 10pm and were all so starved after the trip from london that we went out and had some amazing indonesian food. i've never had indonesian before as far as i'm aware, but it was really good. anyway, whilst we were out walking around afterwards i saw a trainer store with some really nice looking hi-tops in that i'd never seen before. i think it was a brand store and they were all the same make, but i'd never heard of it. it began with S, i know that much...

fast forward to today, and after we'd got settled in the venue and got everything sorted i headed out to try and find this shop, and after a bit of walking i came across it and went it. i was standing there deciding which ones to try on and i could hear some people saying the same words over and over and over behind me. this went on for about a minute and got so annoying that i turn around to see what's going on, and it's the 3 girls that work there trying to talk to me, but i'm so dumb and non-dutch speaking that i was just totally ignoring them hahah. after apologising for being a "stupid fucking foreigner" it turns out they just wanted to say hello and tell me they liked my shoes. when does that ever happen?! people being just that friendly to a stranger i mean. not in london that's for sure. they didn't have my size, which was most upsetting, but a few stores up was adidas and i got the sweeeeeeetest blue and white hi-tops that you've ever seen. really. and then again all the people that worked there were just hanging out and wanting to talk for about 15 minutes. i swear this is one of the friendliest places i've been to, and it's always the same. i love the netherlands so much.

tonight's show is at the melkweg, which also happens to be one of my favourites. the house crew here are great and they even had some homemade tomato soup waiting for us when we showed up early. the katy perry tour is in the big room and in the smaller room across the foyer is the gaslight anthem / frank turner / polar bear club tour. i already ran into the gaslight guys and my friend dan (he is their sound engineer) and i spoke to frank earlier and he's showing up in a wee bit so gonna go hunt him down! hopefully i'll get to see a bit of their shows too if times don't clash.

this is me standing on the sofa in the dressing room trying to get my new pumps on photobooth

lucky i've got blue jeans on today, right?! gonna wear them now and be all excited about them.
right! i'm gonna go find mr turner as he should be about by now. then i'm gonna get pancakes. then there's a show!

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 5. [Feb. 28th, 2009|04:13 pm]
well, last night was pretty amazing. 2nd sold out show at koko with the guys headlining the club NME after the katy perry show was done too. both were awesome with crazy crowds and everyone had a super fun time.

at the later show, adam and josh from katy perry's band joined the boys on bass and drums for the whole set. we had some trouble finding a drumkit as their own backline had to leave on the truck after their show, so a day to remember amazingly nicely walked down camden high street with their drumkit for them to borrow once they were done at their underworld show! wicked nice of those guys. adam and josh were SO fucking good and it sounded proper amazing. it was almost an actual rock show with all those guys from different bands dancing onstage at the end for 'don't trust me' and reel big fish in house too, after their show at the forum.

right now we're on the eurotunnel headed for amsterdam. there's no show tonight (you can catch katy perry + band on the ant and dec show if you need your fix) so we might head to catch the a day to remember show who are in town tonight. be awesome to see the set as I missed it last night even though they were just up the road. either that or I might get really wasted, just because. we'll see.

oh, and we rocked the new lily allen record on the way down from london. it's actually amazing, innit?!

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 4. [Feb. 25th, 2009|10:00 pm]
[Current Location |manchester academy 1. upstairs.]
[Current Music |ur so gay is playing right now]

sitting in catering at manchester academy listening to katy play an acoustic track downstairs below us.... watched the first half of her show tonight. it's really tight and really wicked. i wasn't sure how it'd be before i saw her play but i actually really like it! i'm gonna get a t-shirt and everything.

the 3OH!3 show tonight before the big KP was totally fucking insane. crazy crowd, the guys were awesome, and the bass was so, SO heavy that i literally actually came very close to puking whilst i was in the pit shooting. got some pretty sweet shots and video so hopefully i'll have time to go through some of it at the our hotel in the morning, before we head to channelbee for an interview in the afternoon before the first of the two sold out koko shows. so many people tonight knew all the words tonight too... so much fun to watch!

nat's been getting his english accent on pretty good, and with a little careful coaching from my goodself, he managed to call the crowd a bunch of 'fucking plonkers' tonight (i can take no credit for 'plonker' as i forgot it was even a word, as shameful as that is), and got a liverpool v manchester united chant going to lots of boos/cheers (delete as appropriate) from the 2,000+ crowd. his london accent is totally better than mine now so i guess i'm gonna have to put some work in!

anyway, so i think i last wrote in copenhagen. so after that we had a good old 12 hour drive through denmark, germany and the netherlands. the autobahn is so much fun when you can drive as fast as you like.. if it wasn't for ALL THE FUCKING ROADWORKS we probably would've got here yesterday. seriously, at one point they were building at least 15 new bridges over the motorway in different places. how many people need to cross the fucking thing?! can't they just run amongst the traffic like everyone else? poor show, innit. once we finallllllly made the ferry, i'm most happy to report that it was super amazing with a choice of fine dining restaurants, and the cabins were pretty much like rooms in the jury's inn. not bad for a boat full of truckers (and us). that got us to harwich in essex at 6am this morning then we drove up here to the north west. pretty tired all in, so good job we've only got 3 or so hours driving after the show hahahah. we get a lie-in till about 10am in the morning though so everyone is proper excited! a lie-in AND little chef pancakes makes a pretty fucking good day, right?!

i'm gonna go and get some more grapefruit juice (i'm being healthy! and i haven't drunk a drop of booze all tour so far) and check out the end of the show now so ta ta and i'll catch y'all in london at somepoint...

BYE <3 xoxoxoxox

ps. tip of the day: don't ask for directions to a "nightclub" in denmark. they will send you to a whorehouse. a "nightclub" is apparantly a "disco". another one of those, same time tomorrow...

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 3. [Feb. 23rd, 2009|08:51 pm]
[Current Location |kobehavn AB centre]
[Current Music |katy perry]

HI! i will keep today's update on the short side as i can't see a fucking thing and typing is taking more than my whole life to do. i'm sat in the pitch black up the side of the stage in the roped off seats (cos there's speakers and stuff in the way, innit) editing photos and watching katy perry shake her booty all over the stage.

we got here about 4pm after the drive from stockholm. we're alive mum, if you're reading this, which i'm sure you are. the trip was actually pretty ok once we got out the awful awful snow and ice!

so, in summary, to keep it short;

a) we made it to copenhagen.
b) alive.
c) it's still pretty cold but lucky i got my long thermal underwear on under my jeans, right?!
d) 3OH!3 totally killed it again tonight. 3,000 danish types eating out the palm of their hands.
e) tour continues to go well. everyone is super lovely.
f) i've eaten more hot dogs in the last 3 days than the rest of my life combined.
g) katy's show is actually really good! her band is really amazing.
h) i took this photo about an hour ago while sean and nat (otherwise known as 3OH!3) slayed kobehavn:

3OH!3 / katy perry european tour

i) there's about 3,000 danish folks here tonight.
j) the show was planned for vega, across town, but got upgraded to the KB where i am now.
k) we got a 24 hour trip in the morning back to the UK
l) manchester on weds is the first of 3 british shows.
m) we got a bunch more shows in europe after that.
n) i was gonna go to Z but i've run out of stuff to say.

peter goes 3OH!3ing. volume 2. [Feb. 22nd, 2009|03:16 pm]
so, we made it! we almost didn't, but we did! right now we're waiting on pizza from a place just down the street from nalen, the venue.

the trip yesterday went really well until we got about 250 miles from stockholm when it started snowing. and snowing. and snowing. it got well past the point where the UK wouldve shut down entirely, and we were driving over a motorway covered in snow and ice, not being able to see the markings, the edge of the road, or anything else past about 10 metres in front of the van. the next few hours went realllllly slow as we drove at 40mph the rest of the way to stockholm. I did think we were gonna have to stop and get a motel but somehow we got through and here we are in stockholm..

the city is pretty awesome. well, it would be if it wasn't cold, wet, snowy, slushy, icey and just generally a bit rank. we walked for an hour or two earlier and I got 'princes cake' (well good and covered in green marzipan) and some gloves that look my gran knitted them for a hunter in montana. pretty sweet. the whole river/lake or harbour, whatever it is, is totally iced over too and then snowed on so it looks amazing. altogether a real nice place, just a shame my feet are so wet!

the venue too, obviously, looks amazing. it looks like some sort of palace inside, and even has a royal box. we'll have to wait and see if the king turns up to see 3OH!3 and katy perry sing the hits, but I'd think it was a pretty high probability. don't worry though, I'll make sure to get a photo with him if he rocks up..

- the pizza was amazing, in case you were wondering. little writing break there. super thin crust margeritha (is that how its spelt normally? I can't remember. that's how its spelt here anyhow)

anyway! so, pizza over, we're alive, stockholm's cold and soundcheck is soon!

over and out <3 xoxoxox

"if any children want to visit the bridge, they can meet by the 7th deck cafe in 10 minutes"

ummm, fuck off? why the hellz can't I visit the bridge! sounds well good fun. surely that's age discrimination or something? I need to steal me a small danish child...

pretty nice morning apart from tha travesty, wherever in the sea we are.. lying out on the back deck (in a crisp, cold wrapped up way. not on a sun lounger or nothin') writing emails and watching all the tankers sailing past.

so I'm somewhere in the middle of the north sea on a boat between harwich, essex and the west coast of denmark. the first leg of our journey to stockholm for the 3OH!3/katy perry tour that kicks off sunday night. we left about 5pm and once we dock at 1pm tomorrow arvo, we got a 12 hour drive through denmark and sweden. just lovely.

we're sat in our cabin right now (number 9105, if you're interested) watching dexter and eating sandwiches. pretty sweet deal for a ferry, with free champagne, wine and beer in our mini fridge, and a danish man singing eric clapton covers in the cocktail bar. he's putting his wah pedal to good use too, which is always nice to see with an acoustic set...

in financial news, I'm pretty bummed that denmark and sweden won't join the euro yet.. gotta carry danish money, swedish money and euros along with the good old english pounds. might get a bit confusing in a few days time. fiddly exchange rates too. 8.4 kroner to the pound? what the fuck's that about?

anyway. I got me some sleeping to do and some more dexter to watch.

see y'all in scandanavia! <3 xoxoxox

TOUR TOUR TOUR TOUR TOUR! [Feb. 13th, 2009|12:32 pm]
[Current Location |on the way to waterstones]
[Current Music |3OH!3 - Want]

so that time has come around again. i've been off the road for over a month now and i've been starting to get a bit fidgety! worry not though, for i leave on the highways of europe in just a few days!

in the middle of next week i shall depart london, bound for scandanavia and the start of the katy perry european tour, where i shall find myself in the new travelling company of colorado rockerhiphoppunx 3OH!3! (the first ! is part of the name, the second ! is just me going !. got it?). we will then motor around the continent together for a fun looking tour that will take us to sweden, denmark, england, the netherlands, france, germany and belgium.

for the uninitiated among you, you can give 3OH!3 a bloody good going over at their myspace... pretty fun sounding, right?!

for the ones among you that like details, these are the dates. (all are opening for katy perry except club NME)

22 Feb Stockholm Nalen
23 Feb Copenhagen Vega
25 Feb Manchster Academy
26 Feb London KOKO
27 Feb London KOKO
27 Feb CLUB NME @ KOKO. late headline show!
01 Mar Amsterdam Melkweg
02 Mar Paris Elysee Montmartre
04 Mar Munich Tonnehalle
05 Mar Frankfurt Batschkapp
06 Mar Hamburg Grunspan
07 Mar Brussels Ancienne Belgique

(the gaslight anthem/frank turner are playing the same venue in amsterdam on the same day too! how fun. in the other room of course though, not in some perverted pop-hiphop-folk mashup show)

i have a list of things i need to get still. i can't find my scandanvian phrasebook anywhere which is obviously very annoying, so i'm headed to waterstones later to procure a new one. i can speak pretty good french, everyone in the netherlands speaks better english than me, and you can always get by in germany, but i have absolutely NO idea how to make myself understood in swedish! hahah. homework for me this weekend fo'sure. i have a newly purchased winter type coat too just in case we get stuck on a mountain side in a snowdrift/avalance... unlikely, sure. the coat's pretty nice though so i thought it best to get it just in case.

i still need to do some research into the places we're going to too, so i can supplement my already knowledgable brain so i can play tour guide, as EVERYONE likes interesting facts, innit?! i do anyway so i'm going to just be the most annoying person in the world and point out every place of note in the WHOLE OF EUROPE. i imagine the whole trip will be much like national lampoon's european vacation (just with me being super professional, of course!) oh, ummm, but not really obvs if 3OH!3's label or management are reading this hahahah. lovely :)

oh! and thankyou for those kind folk that responded to my swedish call for help. as you can now see, the first date of the tour is in stockholm and there were a few snow tyre type related questions i had! answers hailed from the music wide as far and wide as frank turner (thanks frank!) to new years day (thanks keith!), as well as lots more of you lovely people so thanks a bunch! think we're set now... :) i'm meeting the band in stockholm there the night before the first show, which involves me getting a ferry from harwich to denmark which takes almost 24 hours. i'm not sure if this sounds really, really fun, or really, really boring. with no phone signal, and probably no wi-fi, i think i'm gonna have to take some travel scrabble and make friends with an old danish couple who are on a walking holiday. or something.

in other hugely exciting news, poppy turns 3 on sunday. in my godfatherly duties, i have scoured the shops of london in order to find a matching rain mac, wellington boots and scarf combo, all in the style of a bumblebee. obviously. the boots have eyes and antennas (do bees have antennas, or are they just ears?), the mac have big black stripes and wing bits, and the scarf has stick on bees. a pretty sweet outfit alround, i gotta say.

boots via blackberrycam;

i think that's everything in the world i can think of for now, so i'm off to waterstones. BYE!  <3 xxxoxx

[Current Location |the snow]
[Current Music |the academy is - fast times at barrington high]

so, i put one of these up during the tour back in december. finally got round to editing up a few more. hit the cut for a whole bunch of them, or click the link to my site for the full set.

- quick recap; i was on the tour with the wonderful eugene francis jnr & the juniors, so thought it'd be rude not to take a few pictures of coldplay as the show looked so amazing! oh, and eugene francis jnr photos coming very very soon, just as soon as my macbook is returned to me from being fixed as they're on all on that :) this week, fo'sure.

hope everyone is enjoying/hating on the snow! good job on getting prepared london hahah. no buses at all = stuck in my house. oh well!

anyway... for now;
